THE KNOW HOW: Oblivienne Sportsfishing has become synonymous with Lord Howe fishing through our long association with names like I Fish, Rex Hunt, The Big Fish, Fish International, Rod Harrison, Dean Butler, Peter Morse, Shimano Angling Digest, Fishing World and a host of other personalities, magazines, TV programs, and videos. You can't buy that kind of publicity; you have to be good enough to earn it. Oblivienne Fishing was established over 20 years ago by Gary "Crom" Crombie. Crom's family has fished these waters since 1853. Garry Sexton and Darren Nobbs have now added their experience and great boats to the team. The principals of Oblivienne Fishing can count over 100 years experience in fishing Lord Howe waters and have fished as clients in many of the world's best fishing destinations across 3 oceans and 5 seas. Always look for the man who has extensive experience as a client as well as a captain. He knows what you want because he has been in your shoes!

THE TOOLS: With 4 boats ranging from 5 to 12 metres "Oblivienne" is the only operator able to cover the incredible variety of fishing options available at this dream angling destination. We also have a huge range of tackle available to our clients. Rods and Reels by Shimano, Penn, Fin Nor, Quantum, Van Staal, and Shakespeare. Lures by too many makers to list and including Skirted trolling, hard body Minnows, Poppers, Metals, Jigs, Flys, and Soft plastics. Did we miss something? THE SERVICE: On or off the water our service and hospitality is legendary. We look after you before, during and after your fishing trip. Our base at Thompsons General Store stocks a full range of tackle suitable for local conditions along with bait and berley. They also hire rods, reels, gaffs, and can provide everything you need to try a bit of shore based fishing on lay days. Thomo's even have you covered for packed lunches on fresh bread from their own bakery; takeaway meals and drinks from their Burger Bar Cafe, sun protection, souvenirs, camera supplies, clothing; and just about anything else you might need on your holiday. There are only 7 Hire Cars allowed on the Island and Thomo's have 2 of them, book early if you think you might need one to get around. If you do want to try a bit of shorebased fishing then remember that luggage limits are pretty restrictive. Many people find it convenient to bring their own reel but hire a rod from Thomo's.
